From The Chair with Chris Williams

All my life I have been described by friends of longstanding as an ‘old soul’, not that I mind this description if it means valuing genuine friends, by which I mean it cuts both ways and having respect then I am guilty as charged. Mind you, the fact I enjoy listening to the late Dame Vera Lynn on occasion and watching films featuring stars from the days when the so-called studio system of cinema’s golden age was at its height, just might have something to do with it as well, but as Clarke Gable told Vivien Leigh (Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara) back in 1939, ‘Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn’. Sorry, I couldn’t resist that!
